My family and I traveled on a Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Mediterranean in September 2004. We scheduled a tour for all 3 of our Italian ports Livorno, Rome, and Naples. Our first driver was Max. He was quite knowledgeable and very pleasant. We drove through the Tuscan countryside to Florence. We were able to visit the Accademia museum, Duomo, shopping, lunch in a great Tuscan restaurant that he recommended, and even had time for some authentic gelato. It was superb. In Rome, we had Peter, quite the comedian and knowledgeable as well. Our entire day was filled from 8; 00 am pick-up to 5.00 pm drop-off. We saw it all, Vatican City, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, a statue of Moses, Colosseum, shopping, a tour of ancient Rome, and lunched at a delicious restaurant recommended by Peter. There were more sites in our packed day than the tours on the cruise ship could fit in. We kept running into Fabrizio all day. He wanted to take us away from Peter and drive us around himself, but Peter would have none of that. LOL! We were his jewels from the states and he was going to make sure we saw everything. Our last day and what a day it was. We went to Capri in the morning via the ferry. After a few hours in Capri, we took the ferry to Sorrento. We arranged for Umberto to meet us in Sorrento where he drove us up the Amalfi coast. This has to be the prettiest coastline I have ever seen. On our way back down the mountain, we stopped in Positano and Amalfi to do some shopping. Umberto was so personable; he even drove us by his hometown. On our way back to the ship, we stopped by the Pompeii ruins and ate pizza in Naples. It was great knowing we were in such good hands. Again with time-limited because we needed to be back on board by 5.30 pm, Umberto made sure we saw as much as possible and still got us to the ship in time. It'' s been almost a year and I can still remember everything we did like it was yesterday. All of the drivers were excellent. We loved the family atmosphere that was portrayed by every driver we met. We are planning another European trip in 2 years and we will definitely use Driverinrome again. We have already recommended this service to friends who will be traveling to Italy. Thanks for making our vacation memories most memorable and pleasant.
