After being whisked to the Colosseum by your courteous chauffeur you will be met by your expert tour guide who will escort you on an exclusive 3-hour walking tour through history.

The Colosseum, where 50.000 spectators watched cruel battles between gladiators and wild beasts in Ancient Roman times, is surely the most fascinating monument in Rome, and also its most iconic; its image is recognizable the world over as the symbol of The Eternal City. You will hear amazing stories, facts, and figures regarding the Colosseum and the ruins in the Roman Forum.

This excursion functions equally well pre- or post-cruise. Pre-cruise we can pick you up at your Rome lodgings or from either of the Rome airports, even a train station.  Post-cruise we will pick you up at the port of Civitavecchia.  In order to pick you up right at the ship, we recommend the use of minivans, even if your group is larger than 8 persons.


Please be aware that obtaining skip-the-line tickets is not guaranteed and is contingent on availability, which is confirmed at the time of booking. Due to the activities of prominent agencies with early access, securing tickets has become more challenging. Ticket sales for the Vatican Museums open two months before the selected date, while the Colosseum opens one month ahead. If we are unable to secure tickets, alternative activities will be proposed. Pre-purchased tickets are non-refundable, but we will make every effort to find suitable alternatives.

Kindly note that the acquisition of skip-the-line tickets is not guaranteed. Procurement is dependent on availability, to be confirmed at the time we go to book them. Booking tickets has become extremely difficult this year due to the activities of huge agencies that have access to sales ahead of agencies such as ours.

Ticket sales for the Vatican Museums open (to us) two months ahead of the selected date; the Colosseum one month ahead.

In the event we can't secure tickets, we will offer you an alternative activity. There is no end to fascinating archeological sites and amazing churches in Rome.

Our intention is not to cause alarm but we felt it was important to be transparent regarding this difficult situation in order to manage expectations. Rest assured we will do our very best to find any tickets you request through our trusted suppliers. We appreciate your understanding.

Meeting Point

  • For a Pre-Cruise Tour, your driver will be waiting for you at the lobby of your hotel OR at the arrivals at the airport holding a sign with your name. If you are not able to find him, please don’t leave but call the office ASAP. Instead, for a Post-Cruise Tour, as soon as you get off the ship, please look for your driver and if you are not able to find him, please don’t leave but call the office ASAP. If you think you will be late for any reason, we kindly ask you to contact the office ASAP.


1. Is this tour private?

The tour is private, just for your party, however if you prefer to share your tour with other passengers to alleviate costs, you may find your travel companions to create your small group and divide the costs.

2. Does this tour include lunch and admission fees to the sites?

No, lunch and admission fees are not included in the rate. We can make reservations for you for the skip the line tickets to the Colosseum to be added to the rate of the tour.

3. Does it include a guide?

The rate includes a licensed guide for approximately 3 hours in the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.

4. What is the duration of this tour?

The duration of this tour is 5 hours, including pickup and drop off at the ship/hotel.

5. What can we see on this tour?

The itinerary is flexible, but it usually includes a guided tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and drive by the Circus Maximus, the Palatine Hill and Piazza Venezia.

6. Is gratuity included in the price?

Tips are never included in our quotes. We think that a tip shouldn’t be included in the rate otherwise it would be a tax!!! Once in Italy do not feel as though you have to tip everyone because someone told you to. Tip only if you really liked the service. Tips are generally: 10% not bad 15 % great 20 % best tour in my life. Please report any abuse.

Cancellation Policy

There will be a full charge for bookings canceled with less than 72-hour notice for any service required. In this case, a full charge will be made on your credit card. If you miss your flight or if your airline decides to cancel the flight due to bad weather or if your flight is directed to another airport on arrival, please advise us on time (as soon as you know) or a full charge will be made.

Please give us enough time so we can accept other reservations and allocate them to our chauffeurs. If the ship does not make it to the pier for bad weather, you will not be considered responsible so NO CHARGE will be made to your credit card. A full charge will be made for no show-up.

Only pre-purchased skip the line tickets (if requested) are not refundable under the circumstance and will be charged to your card.
