In June of 2013, I had the amazing experience of visiting Maenza - the birthplace of my grandmother, discovering the home where she was born. I had booked ‘Driver-in-Rome’ in advance with no previous knowledge of their performance. I was pleasantly greeted at the hotel by my driver and interpreter, Daniele Melaragno, who was so helpful in searching for my ancestors, and acting as the go-between with cousins I discovered while there. He knew exactly where to find the information I was seeking. Although time didn’t allow for us to visit Torrice, the home of my grandfather, the day was most enjoyable with Daniele’s capable assistance.
