Pickup and drop-off are at your Rome accommodation (or an agreed meeting point). Your driver will plan the route around your family’s pace and priorities.

Suggested Itinerary (8 Hours Total)
Pickup at your hotel in Rome

Climb the Dome of St. Peter’s Basilica
A memorable challenge with incredible views. Choose the full climb (551 steps) or elevator + fewer steps (still a workout).

Castel Sant’Angelo (closed Mondays)
A fascinating fortress-museum with ramparts, cannons, terraces, and plenty of “castle” atmosphere that kids love.

Trevi Fountain
Join the coin-toss tradition and grab family photos.

Janiculum Hill (noon cannon shot)
If timing works, witness the midday cannon shot tradition and enjoy one of Rome’s best panoramas. On weekends, there may be a puppet show (seasonal/time-dependent).

Mouth of Truth (quick stop)
A classic “Roman Holiday” moment—perfect for goofy family photos.

Time Elevator
A 40-minute multimedia show that brings 3,000 years of Roman history to life with sound/visual/motion effects.

Gelato stop
Because no family day in Rome is complete without gelato.

Drop-off at your Rome hotel

Alternatives (swap in based on ages/interests and ticket availability)

  • Explora Museum (for kids 12 and under, closed Mondays) — hands-on learning and play
  • Gladiator School — 2-hour class, must be booked in advance (times coordinated with us)
  • Zoology Museum (closed Mondays)
  • Museo delle Mura (closed Mondays)
  • Villa Borghese gardens (and optionally Galleria Borghese, closed Mondays)
  • Capuchin Crypt (closed Thursdays) — spooky/curious stop for older kids and teens

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING TICKETS:
Please be aware that tickets are guaranteed only when booked. Booking tickets this year has become almost impossible and we’re struggling to find slots available. The Vatican opens availability 2 months ahead of the selected date and the Colosseum opens availability one month ahead. We will do our very best to get the admission tickets for you but if by this time we are not able to secure tickets, then those are not guaranteed. We will have to relay to other suppliers but it’s not guaranteed. You will be notified in case of lack of availability and offered an alternative solution (for example, instead of the Vatican we can visit other beautiful churches; instead of the Colosseum you may decide to focus on the Roman Forum). We will be able to provide a certain answer regarding availability 7 weeks ahead for the Vatican and 4 weeks ahead for the Colosseum, in reference to the selected date of your tour. You will then be free to decide how to move forward.
Thank you very much for understanding.
