Duration : 7 Hours
Starting From:Want to do
something different during your stay in Rome? Something in the
countryside, with picturesque hilltop villages and maybe a little wine tasting?
Look no further—our private day trip to the Roman countryside & Castelli
Romani from Rome is just the ticket.
The
Castelli Romani (literally, Roman Castles)—a collection of hilltop villages
around Lake Albano and Lake Nemi—have always been synonymous with great food
and simplicity. In times gone by, Romans would come here on weekends, buying
food along the way and enjoying it with local wine in a tavern.
Today the
area is best known for Castel
Gandolfo,
where the traditional summer residence of the Pope is located, but there are
many picturesque villages to visit, and the region is one of great natural
beauty.
Our tour
begins with a drive through lush farmlands and rolling hills dotted with
handsome villas. We will visit several villages, each with its own charm and
food specialties. If you like, we can finish the day with a wine tasting.
Your
driver coordinates the itinerary to avoid unnecessary rushing—so you can
explore at an easy pace and be back at your Rome hotel at the time you
requested.
