Duration : 11 Hours
Visit the charming villages of Positano and Sorrento
and enjoy a panoramic drive along the stunning Amalfi Coast on this private
excursion from Rome.
Features
of this day trip to the Amalfi Coast, Positano & Sorrento:
After leaving Rome and driving along the
Highway of the Sun, you will cross the picturesque countryside of Lazio and
Campania. Along the way, you will pass Montecassino Abbey, famous for its important battles during World War II.
Proceeding along the Bay of Naples, with the
ominous figure of Mount Vesuvius to the east, you will get spectacular views of
the Mediterranean and the islands on our way to Sorrento.
SORRENTO
A summer resort that attracts visitors from all
over the world, Sorrento is an enchanting village brimming with
character. In ancient times the Greeks and Romans found inspiration here
for their art and industry, and it is here that you will find an extraordinary array of woodworks, mosaics, furniture and porcelain in a setting of handsome
streets, scenery and people. If you have a sweet tooth (well, even if you
don’t) you should taste some Sfogliatelle, a delectable Neapolitan pastry filled with
ricotta cheese and candied fruit, or some Limoncello, a scrumptious liqueur made from the renowned
local lemons.
If you
wish to visit Pompeii, we suggest you choose our tour that goes to the Amalfi
Coast, Pompeii & Positano, or request a customizable itinerary.
POSITANO
In Positano, pastel houses are set against the
stark cliffside that gives way to the brilliant blue sea. As you descend
the many stairs to the seaside promenade and the beach, you will find
everything from art galleries to clothing to handicrafts and local
products. Lemons are renowned in these parts, perhaps at their most
famous when turned into Limoncello, a scrumptious lemon liqueur that you will
definitely want to try. Enjoy free time to explore this elegant spot with
its many boutiques, open-air markets and seaside cafes.
Your driver will most likely make a suggestion for lunch at Da Costantino restaurant in Positano. Luigi, the owner, is not our uncle or cousin but a close friend, and thousands of clients have enjoyed his cuisine throughout the years. Every day they cook fresh using seasonal ingredients. You may choose to eat here for about 25/30 euro per person or dine at a restaurant of your choice.
NOT INCLUDED

2. Is the driver also a guide?
Our English-speaking drivers are NOT licensed guides. Due to strict Italian laws & regulations that protect officially licensed guides, our driving guides can comment and explain the sights only from inside the vehicle but are not allowed to do so once they are outside the vehicle. They are regularly licensed instead to chauffeur the public. We highly recommend that you never book with any touring company that does not make this clear.

No, only a licensed guide is authorized to accompany you during the visit of sights. Our driver will drop you off close to the sights but will stay with the vehicle for the duration of your visit.
4. Does this tour include lunch and admission fees to sites?
No tickets or lunch are included in the rate. Please contact our office for pricing and reservations.

8. Is gratuity included in the price?
Tips are never included in our quotes. We think that a tip shouldn’t be included in the rate otherwise it would be a tax!!! Once in Italy do not feel as though you have to tip everyone because someone told you to. Tip only if you really liked the service. Tips are generally: 10% not bad 15 % great 20 % best tour in my life. Please report any abuse.
