and explore fascinating Pompeii on this private excursion from Rome.
After
leaving Rome and driving along the Highway of the Sun, you will cross the
picturesque countryside of Lazio and Campania as we head to Pompeii. Along the
way, you will pass the Montecassino Abbey, famous for its important
battles
during World War II.
In Pompeii,
you’ll have time to tour on foot (or better yet, with a private guide). As you
walk among bathhouses, temples, markets, and forums, you’ll get a glimpse of
Roman life as it was almost 2,000 years ago.
After
Pompeii, we will drive along the Sorrentine peninsula, stopping for photos
overlooking Sorrento before proceeding to Positano.
In
Positano, pastel houses are set against the cliffside above the brilliant blue
sea. Enjoy free time to explore this elegant spot with boutiques, open-air
markets, and seaside cafés. Lemons are renowned here—especially when turned
into limoncello, a lemon liqueur you’ll definitely
want to try.
Your driver
will most likely suggest lunch at Da Costantino in Positano (optional). You may
also choose a restaurant of your preference.
This

taking the train from Rome to Afragola (a train station near Naples) is a great
