We began our journey to Rome on a 7-night cruise that disembarked in Rome. This is a trip of many firsts for us…first time across the pond, first time cruisers, first time to any of Europe. While cruising, we elected to use the Shore Excursions provided by the cruise line and had an outstanding time. Our guides there were all local to the area they were sharing with us, all were great and we were so pleased. For our 5 nights in Rome, our travel agent found Driver in Rome for us. While we trust our friend and travel agent, we weren’t sure what to expect. Two words - absolutely incredible! From start to finish, this team of individuals go above and beyond unlike anything I’ve ever experienced!
Anyone can take your money, show you a few things and you will get something out of it I’m sure. Driver in Rome, has what I believe to be a different goal in mind: to provide their clients with an experience, not just a view, an activity, some commentary, etc. but rather, something we will remember for a lifetime! From the conscious awareness of how best to spend the right time, where and when in light of all the traffic, tourists, to taking the road less traveled, fewer buses, fewer tourists which provides you with an intimate level of service that I was not expecting; it was a daily surprise and delight.
Every driver and guide exceeded all of our expectations. These are not random individuals working for a company, these are long term tourism professionals that know what they are doing and are experts in their fields. They perfectly blend guided and educational time to time on your own so you can sip and savor the local flavors, sights and sounds. It was simply amazing.
I could share so many details of what made our experience great. However, if I did, it might ruin the element of the surprise and delight for others. Here’s what I will share with you. You will feel at ease, secure, entertained, educated, authentically cared for, and in general experience something you will never forget and cherish every moment in the memories being created. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for, and this is quality beyond my wildest expectations.
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Daniele during our lunch at a real working Farmhouse.
