I can’t say enough good things about Driver in Rome! We originally booked a driving tour as we knew it would be very hot and difficult weather to be walking around too much in. In fact, we were extremely happy with the vehicles and tours. Although I can only fill out one tour on TripAdvisor, we actually used Driver in Rome on 3 different days and LOVED IT every single day.
On the first day, we did a Rome and Vatican City full day 8-hour tour. Our driver was Marco and he was very friendly and very knowledgeable about all the sights. We asked him many many questions and he was always able to answer. He also recommended places for us to eat lunch and stopped at certain spots that he knew were good for scenic photos. He went out of his way to accommodate us!
During that same day, we had a tour guide in Vatican City named Ana. She was extremely engaging and very knowledgeable as well! She knew all the shortcuts and routes to take in the whole city. In fact, people from other tours were listening to her over their own as she spoke clearly and explained to us the entire historical background of Vatican City. We loved Ana and would definitely go on more tours with her!
The next day, we did a 6 hour round trip to Tivoli from Rome. Our driver that day, Gianni, was also very knowledgeable and nice. Like Marco, he recommended some nice spots for lunch for us and even asked us to places that were less touristy so we could get a more authentic meal with fewer people. He even came inside the lunch shop to explain to us what each dish was and why we should try it! We got to try new Italian dishes that we had never seen before. His knowledge of Tivoli was extensive and he was very helpful as well.
On our last tour, we traveled from Rome to Florence through Pisa. We again had Marco as our driver and he was again very knowledgeable about Pisa and Florence and showed us nice places to eat in Pisa and places to take pictures in Florence.
All-in-all, this is one of the BEST tour services in Rome and we are so thankful to Driver in Rome for letting us see all the sights. If you’re here for one day, or you’re here for many, Driver in Rome is the way to go.
