DESCRIPTION:
After leaving Rome and driving along the "Sun Route" motorway, the tour will cross the regions of Lazio and Campania.
From the road you will enjoy the view of the famous Abbey of Montecassino, noted for its famous battle and complete destruction during the second World War.
Reach Pompeii, where time has stood since august 24th ,79 AD. The ruins of Pompeii, located at the foot of Mt. Vesuvius, have been perfectly preserved since the day that tons of ash and lava rained down upon the city, burying it 20 feet deep until excavations began in the 18 th century.
Learn about the excavation technique of pouring liquid plaster into the empty spaces to determine what the residents were doing at the time of the eruption and you'll gain an insight into the lives of ancient Romans as you discover baths, theathers, temples and markets.
The pathways are endless and the buildings fascinating.
Some of the recovered houses still contain the original marble decoration, well preserved frescoes and splendid mosaics.
