This could be a tentative itinerary:
Depart pier for a comfortable ride along the Sorrentine peninsula.
Upon reaching Sorrento, you will discover a village that is brimming with character and overflowing with picturesque streets and charming people.
Here you will find an extraordinary collection of woodwork, mosaics, furniture and porcelein.
Have lunch in a typical restaurant and proceed to the town of Pompei.
Possibly the most famous excavation in the world.
Pompei once supported a flourishing civilization that was revealed nearly intact after being buried for 1700 years.
The once prosperous commercial and political center with a population of 25.000 was hidden under 20 feet of vulcanic ashes and rocks during the fateful eruption of mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Originally a sea port, the eruption raised the land and left the ruined town far from the bay.
You will enter Pompei through the sea gate and walk along the cobble stones streets ,the agora, surrounded by temples, porticoes and law courts.
It was the religious, civic and business center of the city.
Because Pompei is so well preserved, you can see many fine details that reveal the life styles of the residents such as mosaic floors and colourful frescoes in some of the homes.
Following your visit to the amazing city you will retrace your steps to the parking area and begin your drive back to Naples.

- Exploration of Pompeii is entirely on foot and involves about 2 hour walking . Low heeled comfortable shoes and a sun hat recommended.
