Piazza di San Michele:
The 11th-century Church of San Michele facing the square is known for its eccentricity.
Each of its columns is decorated differently and the interior contains paintings by Lippi e Della Robbia. |
Casa di Puccini:
A stop here will show you the house where the famous composer was born.
It now contains a small museum and a school of music.
During a brief visit you may see some of the maestro's personal items and the Steinway on which he composed Turandot.
Basilica of San Frediano:
The basilica's façade features a brilliant 13th-century mosaic depicting Christ in Majesty; its interior contains fine treasures. |
